The Last Elf Vibe Check - Is It Great Or Terrible?
Today we are diving into an upfront, honest vibe check for The Last Elf, a brand-new dark fantasy action RPG on Steam. Is this game great or terrible? We’re breaking down the full experience to see where it succeeds and where it feels like it's still stuck in a beta stage.
In this review, we cover the core story of playing as the last surviving elf fighting to protect humanity. We take a close look at the stamina-based combat, the mystery of the missing dodge input, and why the different attack swings might just be visual. We also break down the game's balancing—from infinite stun-locking regular mobs to the massive, drawn-out health pools of the Dragon and the Demon King. Plus, we'll talk about gathering gold without ever finding a vendor, dealing with frustrating late-game map collision bugs, and that incredibly abrupt ending text that leaves you wondering if your game just glitched out.
There is definitely a lot of potential in the atmosphere and core concept here, and I truly hope the developers continue to patch, update, and polish the game moving forward.
