How do I apply to create an organization?
What to prepare, where to apply, and what happens after you submit an organization application.
The person who applies should be ready to represent the group and manage its early setup on Lowlight.
Open the application
Lowlight app: Open Settings → Create Organization.
Web: Open Create Organization.
What to include
Share enough information for us to understand the group:
- Organization name and description.
- Website, X, Discord, or other public links.
- Audience size and content focus.
- Why the group belongs on Lowlight and what it plans to build.
Lowlight creates the public organization path from the name. You do not need to choose it yourself.
After you submit
You can have one active application at a time. Return to the application page to see its status, refresh it, or withdraw it if your plans change.
Lowlight reviews the application, the group's public identity and activity, and whether the applicant can represent it. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
If your application is approved
Lowlight creates the Organization and adds you as its first manager. Approval is the starting point; it does not immediately make the group an Official or Partner Organization or guarantee every organization feature.
Earning Official status
Most groups should expect Lowlight to look for around 45-75 days of steady activity before considering Official status. This is a guideline, not a countdown or guarantee.
Consistent posting, active members, positive community behavior, and a clear public identity all help show that the organization is ready. Keep your logos, banners, badge assets, and links up to date too.
