Two-Factor Authentication Is Coming to Lowlight This Week

Two-factor authentication starts rolling out on Lowlight this week, adding optional protection with an authenticator app and one-time recovery codes. We’ll announce when it is officially live and available.

This week, we’re adding another layer of security to Lowlight accounts.

Two-factor authentication, usually called 2FA, is beginning to roll out on Lowlight this week. Turning it on will be optional.

Once enabled, Lowlight will ask for a six-digit code from your authenticator app when you sign in.

We’ll announce when 2FA is officially live and available to users.

Why Use Two-Factor Authentication?

Passwords can be guessed, reused, or exposed somewhere else. 2FA makes a stolen password much less useful because signing in also requires a code from your authenticator app.

How It Will Work

When the option becomes available to your account, open Account Security, choose Two-factor authentication, and follow the steps to connect your preferred authenticator app.

2FA will work in both the Lowlight app and on web.

We will not turn 2FA on automatically. You decide whether to enable it.

Save Your Recovery Codes

During setup, Lowlight will give you ten one-time recovery codes. These are your backup if you lose access to your phone or authenticator app.

Keep them somewhere private outside Lowlight, such as a password manager or a secure offline copy. Each code works once, and you can generate a new set from your security settings.

Do not send your authenticator codes or recovery codes to anyone. Lowlight will never ask you to share them in a message.

Rolling Out Gradually

We’re starting with a small group before making 2FA available more broadly.

Not everyone will see the option at the same time. If it is not available in your settings yet, it will become available as the rollout expands.

We’ll announce when 2FA is officially live, along with any additional details you need to get started.

Once it reaches your account, look for Two-factor authentication under Account Security.
