Auto Reforge is live on Lowlight!
Duplicate drops should feel like progress, not clutter. With Auto Reforge, eligible duplicate low-tier item rewards can turn into Dust automatically when they drop, so your collection stays cleaner and every eligible duplicate can move you closer to your next Midnight Vault opening.
What Is Reforging?
Reforging is the Lowlight system that lets eligible item copies become Dust.
Dust is the resource used for Midnight Vault chests. Instead of letting unwanted eligible duplicates pile up forever, reforging gives those extra copies a purpose: they become fuel for your next chest.
Manual reforging is still available when you want to choose eligible items yourself. Auto Reforge is the faster version for future eligible duplicate drops.
What Auto Reforge Does
When Auto Reforge is turned on, Lowlight watches future drop rewards for eligible duplicate low-tier items.
If a drop gives you an eligible duplicate at or below the rarity limit you choose, Lowlight can automatically reforge that duplicate into Dust instead of leaving another copy in your inventory.
The first copy is kept. The extra eligible duplicate becomes Dust. The reveal and drop history will show that the reward was auto-reforged and how much Dust you gained.
You Control the Rarity Limit
Auto Reforge only applies through the rarity limit you choose:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
If you want the safest setup, keep the limit lower. If you want more duplicate cleanup, raise it to Rare. Anything above your selected limit is kept.
What Auto Reforge Will Not Touch
Auto Reforge is intentionally conservative. It is built for annoying duplicate low-tier drop rewards, not for risky inventory cleanup.
Lowlight keeps protected items safe. Auto Reforge does not apply to:
- Your first copy of an item
- Unique variants
- Functional items
- Soulbound items
- Limited or seasonal items
- Locked items
- Marketplace-listed items
- Items above your selected rarity limit
Turning Auto Reforge on also does not sweep through your old inventory and start burning items. It applies to eligible duplicate item rewards from drops after the setting is enabled.
How to Turn It On
You can turn on Auto Reforge from Settings → Auto Reforge.
On web, you can also go directly to lowlight.gg/settings/auto-reforge.
There is also a shortcut when it matters most: if you reveal an eligible duplicate drop while Auto Reforge is off, Lowlight can show an Auto-reforge duplicates? prompt. Tap Turn On and future eligible duplicates like that one can become Dust automatically.
What You Will See
When a drop is auto-reforged, the reward still has a clear reveal moment. Instead of acting like you received a normal usable copy, Lowlight shows that the duplicate was auto-reforged and displays the Dust gained.
Your inventory stays accurate, your drop history stays clear, and your Dust balance moves up.
Why This Matters
Collecting should feel exciting. Duplicate cleanup should not feel like homework.
Auto Reforge turns one of the least exciting outcomes in a reward system into something useful. When an eligible duplicate drop would have been inventory noise, it can now become Dust for the next chest instead.
That means cleaner collections, fewer repetitive manual actions, and more momentum toward the rewards you actually want.
Open Settings, turn on Auto Reforge, and let eligible duplicate drops become Dust automatically.
