Analytics, Rebuilt: A Clearer Look at What’s Working
Lowlight Analytics has been rebuilt across web and iOS with clearer performance trends, deeper post insights, audience reporting, and easier exports.

Lowlight Analytics has received a full overhaul.
The previous experience could give you the numbers, but finding the useful information often took too much work. Charts felt disconnected, important details were buried, and it was not always clear how current the data was.
We rebuilt Analytics around the questions creators are most likely to have:
Is my content reaching more people?
What are viewers responding to?
Where are people finding my posts?
Which posts should I learn from?
The new Analytics experience is designed to answer those questions faster.
A Better Overview
Your Analytics overview now brings the most important account-level information into one place.
You can follow views, engagement rate, likes, comments, shares, follower movement, traffic sources, and your strongest posts across 7-day, 28-day, and 3-month periods.
The main performance chart can switch between views, likes, comments, and shares. This makes it easier to understand whether a strong period came from wider reach, more conversation, or content people wanted to share.
Follower movement now has its own view. You can see when people followed or unfollowed and compare that movement with the content you published.
Below that, Top Posts shows which posts performed best during the selected period. Open any post to view its individual analytics.
Every Post Gets a Deeper Breakdown
Account totals are useful, but they do not always explain why one post performed differently from another.
Individual post analytics now include:
- Views
- Engagement rate
- Likes
- Comments
- Shares
- Saves
- Watch time for videos
- Estimated video completion
- Traffic sources
- Audience retention, when available
You can review the first 24 hours of a post with hourly data or look at its performance across 7-day, 28-day, and 3-month periods.
This makes it easier to distinguish between posts that build over several days and posts that receive most of their attention immediately.
For videos, audience retention shows where signed-in viewers continued watching and where they dropped off. This can help you understand whether the opening held attention, whether the setup ran too long, and whether viewers reached the main moment.
See Where People Found You
Traffic sources have been cleaned up and made easier to read across the dashboard and individual posts.
You can see whether viewers discovered your content through feeds, Explore, a game or community, your profile, search, hashtags, shares, notifications, or another source.
Views from followers show how your existing audience is responding. Explore and feed traffic can show that a post is reaching beyond that audience. Game and community traffic can show whether the context you selected helped the post reach the right people.
Knowing where viewers found a post can provide important context for its performance.
Audience Insights That Are Easier to Use
For accounts with Audience Insights enabled, the audience section now gives you a clearer picture of the people finding your work.
You can review:
- Your primary audience group
- Top countries
- Age distribution
- Gender distribution based on available profile information
- Active hours
- Peak audience activity
These are aggregate patterns, not a list of individual viewers.
These insights can help you understand when your audience is active, where it is concentrated, and whether a post is reaching a different group than usual.
Clearer Information About Your Data
Analytics now shows how current the available data is.
Account and audience data is updated through the most recently completed UTC day. The 24-hour post view is updated through the most recently completed hour.
If a new reporting period is still processing, Analytics will show that the data is not complete yet. Days or hours with no activity appear as zero instead of disappearing from the chart.
If audience or follower information only covers part of the selected range, the screen will make that clear.
Exports Are Easier to Manage
Sometimes you need more than a dashboard.
On web, accounts with export access can create and download reports, check their status, and return to recent exports.
You can choose a creator dashboard report, post analytics, audience insights, or a full report. Exports are available in CSV and JSON, with custom reporting periods of up to 365 days.
This gives you a simpler way to track performance in a spreadsheet, share reports with a team, or keep your own archive.
Built for Web and iOS
Analytics has been rebuilt for both web and iOS.
On iOS, the information is organized for smaller screens, with touch-friendly controls and simpler navigation between Overview, Audience, and individual posts.
The same core information is available on both platforms, organized for each screen size.
Use What You Learn
Analytics can help you spot patterns in reach, engagement, traffic sources, and audience retention. Use those patterns to understand what is working, compare performance over time, and test new ideas.
